Established in 1971, Chong Gene Hang College is a Catholic, government-subsidized grammar school. Like its other brother schools, it was founded and run by De La Salle Brothers, whose aim it is to provide education. Our school is named after an American-Chinese philanthropic couple, Chong Gene Hang and his wife. The first two Principals were Bro. Brendan and Bro. Lawrence.
Our school mission is to impart a Human and Christian Education to those entrusted to our care and to help our students: to learn how to learn, to develop themselves fully as persons of integrity, and to learn to live as brothers and sisters.
Based on our Christian belief and the LaSallian Spirit ¡¥Faith and Zeal¡¦ rendered to us by our forefather St. John Baptist De La Salle, our vision is to provide a human and Christian education. With the motto ¡¥Labore et Virtute¡¦, we intend to cultivate in our campus an ambience of sincerity, openness and enthusiasm; instill in students a sense of loyalty and integrity and promote development of the five virtues and individual potential so that our students will be able to strive for the best in their pursuit of work and studies, serve the community and create a world of peace and justice.
