Celebrations in Pakistan: Today the Lasallian Family in Pakistan celebrates the 50th Jubilee of La Salle High School, Faisalabad with a Mass celebrated by the Papal Nuncio and other festivities. Miguel House of formation currently has 22 aspirants.
Lasallian Schools’ Students in India Receive Laptops: The Tamil Nadu government is gifting 7 million laptops to government schools in the State. As some Lasallian schools are government aided their students will receive the laptops.
International Council of Young Lasallians: ICYL meets in Rome next week. Vanessa Abella from LEAD completes her term on the Council this year. She has been a very pro-active and energetic member of the Council and contributed well in PARC, especially in her organization of and collaboration with others in facilitating the VEGA programme in several Sectors, the most recent being in the District of Colombo. PARC expresses its appreciation and thanks to Vanessa who is now working for De La Salle Philippines Inc. Her replacement on the ICYL will be announced in due course.
Blessing and Opening of LEAD Provincial Offices: After the District Council meeting on 1 October a function to bless and open the Provincial Office in Kowloon, Hong Kong will take place. This function will be followed by Mass. Brothers Edmundo Fernandez, Visitor and Thomas Lavin, Auxiliary Visitor, returned to Hong Kong recently after a three months’ pastoral visit to all communities in seven countries.
Approval of Circular Bro Michael Jacques, Assistant Superior General: Today the General Council approved the Circular kindly and professionally written by Bro Vincent Corkery (LEAD). You will receive copies in due course once translations are complete.
APLEC 8 December: At this stage 85 delegates are registered for the conference to be held in Manila.
PARC Lasallian Womens Symposium: Further information was distributed to all sectors in the past week. Please follow up with institutions so that the target number of Delegates can be attained.
Vocations Summit: Let’s aim for a good representative attendance from across the Region for this January programme.
Bro Visitor Appointed for La Salle Brasil-Chile District: Bro Superior has appointed Bro Jardelino Menegat as the first Visitor of this new District in RELAL. Bro Jardelino is currently Visitor of the District of Porto Alegre in Brasil. The process of restructuring continues in other areas of RELAL.
RELAL has 24 Brothers who will follow a programme to prepare for Perpetual Vows. This is very good news for the Region and the Institute.

As the month of October approaches let us be “mindful of the recommendations of the Church, and faithful to the traditions of the Institute, the Brothers honour the Virgin Mary each day, whether personally or in community, by the recitation of the rosary or some other practice of devotion to Mary which is in keeping with the guidelines of the Church,” (Rule 76a)
