Bro Shahzad continues as an Auxiliary Visitor in Pakistan until his mandate expires. Bro Mark was in Pakistan on 1 January. Bro Ambrose Payne took his customary summer vacation at Balgo Hills and will continue working in the District on ethical standards and other matters as required by the Brother Visitor. He is also engaged internationally on the IEC and the Preparatory Commission of the 45th General Chapter.
PARC 36 commences on 17 January in the Hong Kong Sector of LEAD. Apart from its usual agenda, Trish Carroll will present her study on “Women In the Life of John Baptist de La Salle”, two women from Hong Kong will share their experiences on the PARC Lasallian Women’s Symposium, Henry Attayde from UMAEL will update the conference on alumni matters and Bro Charles Kitson will do some follow up work with the Visitors on Circular 461 and Association. International Assembly Lasallian Educational Mission (IA 13): Bro John Pill has been in contact with the Delegates all of whom have now been allocated into one of the three thematic groups. Each group now works with a chairperson to gather materials which will form part of PARC’s report to IA13.
Young Lasallians in PARC: It is almost a month since APLYC 9 concluded. The Young Lasallians from most of the countries In PARC returned to their Districts with action plans to be involved actively on the home front. To date I have heard that the APLYC Delegates who attended from Hong Kong have met as a group since returning. Any news from other Sectors is welcomed. James Camden (ANZPPNG) who attended APLYC 9 is PARC’s representative on the ICYL. In the coming months he will make contact with Young Lasallian District/Delegation/Sector representatives. The Young Lasallians movement is growing throughout the Institute and PARC is no exception.
Vocations Ministry: Let’s continue to be proactive in promoting the vocation of the Brother to young men in all the countries of the Region. It is encouraging to hear that Indonesians from Manado are in contact with vocations’ personnel in the Philippines. Notification has been received of the CIL session on Vocations to be held later in the year in Rome. Hopefully all Districts/Delegation in PARC will have at least one representative at this important CIL session.
